We here on The Central Oregon coast occasionally have to go into the valley for a variety of reasons. Sometimes for business, sometimes for fun. Well, last week I got to go for fun and that it was.
Heading out of Waldport on Hwy 34 on a beautiful day I was amazed at how green the foliage was. I know it’s Spring but it was breathtaking.
It was like entering a emerald wonderland. There was also no traffic on the usually busy Hwy, so there was time to enjoy the scenery without dodging traffic.
Easing into Corvallis, my destination, I encountered traffic. It wasn’t Waldport traffic but city traffic.
Even though it was a weekday, to me it seemed very busy and it was. With horns blaring, cars and trucks zipping by I felt like a real county bumpkin!
It was amazing at how close traffic was flying by as I got out my car to head to my destination, China Gate restaurant. I met my friends and we proceeded to eat and jabber for what seemed to be hours.
When you don’t see each other often, time flies when you do. Finally it was time to hit the road back to Waldport.
As I left Corvallis and hit Hwy 34 I realized how much I was looking forward to the trip back home. As much as I’d enjoyed my day I was looking forward to being home in Waldport once again!
