The distance from the Southern end of Lincoln County near Yachats, to Rose Lodge, at the tip of the Northern end of Lincoln County, is approximately 60 miles. It can be a long trip up the Central Oregon Coast North from Yachats to Rose Lodge but it’s also a great time to catch up on lots of things.
It’s surprising how much music you can listen to and enjoy within the amount of time it takes to go from one end of this great County to the other end. Or the amount of audio books you can listen to if you chose short books. Or the amazing scenery of the County. To say the trip through Lincoln County is dull and boring is wrong. It’s quite the opposite; even in the middle of Summer when traffic in some locations is very heavy and challenging. The combination of visitors and local traffic together will surely keep you on your toes and that’s not exactly boring!
However, if one just enjoys seeing how the Coastal view changes mile by mile, this trip through the County is for you. One minute you can see the ocean then suddenly you are back in the Coastal forest. Then you hit a stretch of road that just rolls along and all of a sudden you are heading into a Coastal town that is full of locals and visitors alike enjoying the Oregon Coast.
It’s wonderful when you can live in a County that provides a variety of choices when it comes to seeing many interesting sights and an ever changing landscape all within easy access. So if you have the chance, hit the road every now and then, take a good look and enjoy our Central Oregon Coast! As the Steppenwolf song goes;“Get your motor runnin’, Head on out the highway”.
