Every time I hear the phrase “The New Normal” have to scratch my head since I’m not sure what the old normal was. I’m sure I’m not really “normal” so that makes it even harder. Of course I’m joking.
In light of this Covid 19 Pandemic normality has been replaced by a whole host of different ways to live life. I didn’t want to write about this since I’m sure we’ve all heard enough about it, but I’m going to write about one time so this will be the one time.
The old normal had some good things going for it. One of them was that you could be up close to and around people. For example you could go to a concert where there was a crowd rocking out.
You could go to a football or baseball or basketball game and cheer and shout and yell. Hard to do that these days, and the games being played today are missing the energy of a crowd.
However, this “New Normal” can have it’s good aspects also. I think folks are actually being nicer to each other because it’s less often we see each other since we don’t go out as much.
And making quick trips to the store is making us better shoppers. Just in and out instead of cursing the whole market.
Still some of the aspects of the “Old Normal” are what I miss and many others do as well I’m sure, are the chances to shake hands with your buddies, cuddle with your grand kids if you have any, or just go into a restaurant and sit at any table.
These are all things that will come back I’m sure, and in the meantime I will go with the “new Normal” and quit complaining, but as I said earlier this is the one time. So please forgive me, and when you get the chance give someone a big hug!!!
