Time flies, or am I confused? Thanksgiving seems like a long time ago and Christmas is right around the corner. Wow, it seems like everything is speeding up despite not going anywhere during the Covid lockdown!
Of course I have to write about this end of the college football season which is coming to an end in this goofy year. Talking about confusing, well here goes!
Scheduling all the college football games is a daunting task to say the least. This years games were scheduled quite awhile ago and the logistics surrounding those game are huge. Moving the teams about, where they are going to stay and all of that takes some fine tuning and then comes Covid-19.
Wow, talk about a curve-ball. Suddenly it’s back to the drawing board. Not only did the seasons for all the colleges change, everything changed for the fans, and the hotels in the towns where the games were to be played thanks to the Covid-19 lock downs.
Games are being played in empty stadiums. Fans have to watch on TV and hope their teams wins. But sitting at home watching a game on TV just isn’t the same as being in the stands with thousands of others.
All of this seems to have happened overnight! One day it was “lets go” then the next day it was “no going”. We will eventually get back to normal but this period of time is hard to swallow.
A great example of how goofy it is, is that The University of Oregon Ducks are playing The University of Southern California Trojans for the PAC 12 Championship. The reason The Ducks are playing is that The University of Washington due to Covid-19 doesn’t have enough players to play! So here’s to 2020, please leave! Let us enjoy normal life again!
